Spontaneity!

As a fun, inexpensive getaway, my boyfriend and I went to Newport, Oregon for a day trip.  In a single day we managed to spend several hours at the local aquarium, do a little shopping, get dinner at Mo's, and finish off the day by watching the sunset from the beach.  It was absolutely beautiful and probably the best mini-break from school I could've asked for. Winter Vacation

Over winter break I had the opportunity to visit a good friend in Napa Valley.  This was my first time to the area and not only was I lucky enough to be shown around her hometown, but also, the nearby city of San Fransico.  Here are some pictures I took along the way:

Something that I haven't quite worked out yet is how to pick up colors better with my camera.
To be honest, I had higher hopes for a picture of the Golden Gate bridge, especially since what I witnessed in person here was so incredible. Oh well though, it's not like this city has a reputation for being foggy for nothing.

Overall, this was such a great trip. I will always be thankful to have made such as good friend in college and to have had the opportunity to visit her in her hometown.
